Architect Career Information
Architects apply principles of sound design and aesthetics combined with an artistic response to create buildings and environments that meet the needs of their clients, but that fall within a particular budget. Architects design and monitor the construction of a wide variety of structures, houses, office buildings, schools and other environments. They keep in close contact with their clients, as well as with the workers carrying out their plan to make sure that reality remains closely aligned with the plan and vision.
Architect Salary Range:- Entry level pay range: $21,000 to $40,000
- Experienced pay range: $40,000 to $55,000
- Top level pay range: $60,000 to $100,000+
Job growth is projected for architects in the upcoming years. Architecture students should be prepared to work hard and spend several years in school. However, those who persevere are rewarded with better pay and more creative control over their projects.
Architect Career Qualifications:Experience – Internships and part time employment with practicing architects or with an architectural firm while still in school is helpful in obtaining a position upon graduation. A portfolio of work should be meticulously kept and updated for review by prospective employers.
It is a good idea to patent any promising original ideas within one's
portfolio.
